TeachESD's mission is to measurably improve PK - 12 children's altruism ("selfless concern for the well-being of others") and their ability to contribute to sustainable development. We pursue this mission by training teachers and administrators to implement an educational approach called Teaching for Sustainability and Altruism through Project-Based Learning (SAPBL). TeachESD.org introduces the SAPBL approach, provides free teaching resources, free online courses for professional development, free coaching and mentorship.

We also build networks around schools to connect children to project opportunities and resources in their community, facilitating their engagement in sustainability citizenship.

Teacher Testimonials

This course taught me how to make the abstract world of sustainability applicable for young learners.

This course has great resources to apply project-based learning for sustainability.

This course changed my perception of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I now believe that the SDGs can pertain to Kindergarten. They can be broken down for even the youngest students to understand!
